Precious Cargo in Concert

Amy Thompson, Barb Butler, and Julie Hallman, all daughters of Ralph and Pat Thompson, are the fourth generation of music makers in their family. Together the girls make up "Precious Cargo," with music inspired by memories of their Grandad playing the piano. The sisters sport a blend of beautiful harmonies, to create a unique sound that appeals to all ages.
Precious Cargo has produced two CDs so far. Their first, recorded at Rosebud Studios in 2004, and titled "Bob Hoy Remembered," was dedicated to their Grandad.
They then had the opportunity to perform with internationally acclaimed pianist, Marvin Goldstein. They enjoyed his personality and talents, and decided to make their second CD, "Sounds Like Love," with Marvin, recorded at EK Sound in Calgary, in June of this year.
The sisters will have the chance to share the stage with Marvin again for four concerts in Alberta. The closest to home will be at the Elnora Community Hall on September 15th at 7:00 pm. On top of their band, two of the sisters, Amy and Barb, will be on the TV show Mantracker, on September 25th. Their application video with their father playing the part of Mantracker can be found on their website, www.hoyrecordings.com and on www.youtube.com. The episode, featuring Amy and Barb, was filmed in the summer of 2009 in Grand Cash, Alberta. Tune in to the OLN station to find out if the girls were able to outrun Mantracker.
