Arts Alive to hold Annual General Meeting

An Opportunity to Enhance our Community! Arts Alive in Kneehill has now been promoting the arts in our county for well over two years. A lot has been accomplished.
On the first Wednesday of each month, Arts Alive in Kneehill publishes a column in The Capital newspaper, "What is Happening?", alerting residents to a wide variety of cultural events. The second edition of the useful handbook, A Directory of the Arts, has just been published and distributed to your local library, banks and several businesses for public information. You can pick up a summary of the Directory at any of these locations. We have sponsored concerts and have exhibits of a variety of arts in the towns of our county. We create ongoing exhibits of local artists' work in some of the libraries in Kneehill County. By way of participating in Alberta Arts Days in September, a fun treasure hunt for art on display took place in Acme, Linden, Three Hills and Trochu. All this was done by a board of volunteers with the help of a parttime assistant.
As we look to the future, we invite persons interested in the cultural life of Kneehill County to consider joining the Board of Directors. Our board meets once a month from September through May, for a few hours, to pool ideas for ongoing projects and look after details. We welcome new ideas and input. We need participants from all areas of the county to represent a variety of interests. Our Annual General Meeting will be held on November 30, 2010 at Knox United Church in Three Hills. If you have an interest in the cultural life of Kneehill County, here's an opening for you! You do not need to be an artist yourself, you need only be a person who values the arts and their influence on our lives.
