When the sun set in the west and the dust settled at the Three Hills Community Centre, the Kneehill Historical Society’s western-themed spring supper had raised $12,000 after expenses.
Master of Ceremonies Dan “Dapper Dan” Gascon did an amazing job from the get-go. Pastor Maynard “Skip” McArthur offered grace and also provided auctioneering services. The Allsorts orchestra performed all sorts of western tunes and the chuckwagon stew, biscuits, greens and flapper pie was good to the last bite. About 175 cowboys and cowgirls supported the annual fundraising event on Saturday, April 1. Proceeds will go toward moving the first Three Hills School (behind RBC) from its present location to the Kneehill Museum site.
