New Tennis Courts to include Pickleball

Tennis Courts Paving

Tomko, of Calgary, were in Three Hills last Friday to pave the new tennis courts. Tomko are tennis court specialists and were in town earlier to test the court base to ensure that it was stable. The pavement must now cure before they return to apply the new (plexipave) court surface. The court lines for three tennis courts will be applied along with four pickle ball courts. Pickleball will take up two tennis courts and one court will remain tennis only. The public is asked to please stay off the courts until further notice.

Work on the outdoor rink will include clay backfill, cement prep work followed by the actual surface pour and board placement. Ball hockey lines will be painted on the cement. The rink will be completed by October 30 or sooner.

These Western Economic Diversification Program projects are being funded by a Canada 150 grant, matched by the Town of Three Hills for a total of $312,000. To date, the project is on budget.
