Sabres fundraiser highly successful

Sabres 2017

About 200 people attended the 14th Annual Sabres Athletics Fundraiser Banquet and Auction held Saturday, October 21, at the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, in Three Hills.

Each year the Prairie Christian Academy (PCA), Three Hills, hosts this amazing event featuring sports personality Heath Brown (MC), All Round Canadian Champion Auctioneer Jon Radcliffe and a guest speaker. This year’s Keynote was Elite Soccer Player from Sheffield, England, Andy West, National Ministry Relations Manager with Back to the Bible.

Connie Canfield performed on the piano leading up to the Prime Rib Buffet, catered by 3D Food Services, of Three Hills.

The Live Auction was fast and furious, raising $32,700 with about $4,500 resulting from dessert sales. The Silent Auction saw 72 items up for bid and the Quad Play offered four prizes with a combined value of $2500. Tickets were $25 each or five for $100. Tickets for the event were $50 each and have been held at that price since the event’s inception.

Proceeds from the evening help support the Prairie Christian Academy Sabres Athletic Program, Fine Arts Program and help in reducing the debt incurred during the construction phase of PCA’s new gymnasium.

In the words of Jamie Pryor, PCA Society Board Member, “This is about helping our kids, in PCA, to grow and develop.”

The crowd of supporters were served by Prairie Christian Academy Athletes.
