Summer Celebration Anderson 2018

Hat’s off to the organizers of the annual Three Hills Summer Celebration.

The 16 Team Slow Pitch Tournament got started Friday evening and ran throughout the weekend with the finals wrapping up on Sunday afternoon.

It ended with the Mud Hens winning the (A) event. The One Hit Wonders won (B) while the Aces picked up the (C) event and The Smokin’ Aces claimed the (D) event.

IGA Pancake Breakfast

Volunteers report that 300 pancake breakfasts were served, in front of Three Hills IGA, on Saturday morning. The event raised $1,800 for the “B is for Brady” Memorial Fund.

The Grand Parade was grand indeed with lots of colorful entries with the “Hats Off to Three Hills” theme. The Three Hills & District Chamber of Commerce presented the Best Overall award to Three Hills IDA/Sandstone Pharmacies. Best showing went to the Kneehill Historical Museum.

First in Class Groups and Organizations went to the Three Hills/Ghost Pine 4H Club and First in Class Business and Commercial was awarded to Three Hills Dance Celebration. Chamber representative Heather Yeomans made the presentations.

Directly following the parade there was lunch served at the Knox United Church. About 100 lunches were served.

The sun shined down on Anderson Park for the Annual Kid’s Carnival.

It was an action packed event with lots of Bouncy castles, two water slides, train rides, balloon animals, face painting, glitter tattoos, carnival games, prizes and live musical entertainment by Old Man Marley Band and Paul Dempsey.

The huge crowd also enjoyed free hot dogs, pop, water, chips and ice cream treats.

Servus Credit Union completely booked up all of their time slots with their “Escape the Bank” trailer. Each person entering had 10 minutes to break out.

The Kid’s Carnival is supported by a great number of generous sponsors allowing the entire event to be enjoyed by everyone absolutely free of charge.
