Linden set to “Light Up the Village”

Light Up Linden 2019

Linden’s annual ‘Light Up the Village’ celebration will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, with festivities to begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Coulee Campground, followed later, at 6:00 p.m. with ‘Light Up the Rink’, a Linden Agricultural Society event. Hot dogs will be roasting on the open fires while you try a little tobogganing and tree decorating at the coulee, or lace up your skates at the rink and roast marshmallows and warm up with hot chocolate.

The Village staff donate their time for the Coulee event with the tree lights, maintaining open fires, hot dogs and treats. A Christmas tree was donated and planted in the campground for all residents to participate in decorating at this year’s event. Stated Lynda, Linden CAO, “This annual celebration of lights draws people from all over and it’s people getting together, enjoying the beauty of the season, that makes the holiday more magical, allowing the opportunity for community coming together in celebration.” So bring your own weiner sticks, bring your kids and a thermos of something warm.

“It takes a village to put this all together and we could not have made it possible without the support of our generous sponsors.”

The sponsors names are listed on ‘Sign Design’s’ Village Christmas Tree at the top east corner of the coulee.

Village sponsors include: Lost Creek Custom Welding & Fabrication, Linden Tree Farm, Three Hills Rentals & Sales Ltd, Gane Vacuum Services, Through the Grapevine, ATCO Electric, I & C Electrical Services Ltd., S & G Bobcat Services and Grindstone Paving & Excavating.
