MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE OFFICE

• The Acme Sports Day Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel Sports Day this year, due to COVID-19. The Acme Sports Day Committee has appreciated your support over the past years. We look forward to continuing Sports Day next year on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 Please continue to follow the Public Health Guidelines regarding COVID-19 so that we see you there next year!

• May 15th - Frank Fooks Memorial Campground in Acme opens for the Season. Please call Danny or Shannon to reserve a campsite at 403-312-2388.

• BBQ – Bon Fire Season – Refer to Bylaw 2019-08 on the Acme website for all rules and regulations. No burning of leaves/garbage, no burn barrels. Only clean wood and charcoal allowed with a grate over top.

• The Village follows Kneehill County in regards to Fire Bans and Fire Restrictions, please check their website with up to date information and if you require a burn permit you acquire one at Kneehill County Office.

• May 18th – OFFICE CLOSED – Victoria Day

• Do you need help with your taxes and are unable to pay for assistance? Call Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services at 403-443-3800.

• Acme’s Parks remain open and parents are responsible to ensure Social Distancing guidelines while COVID-19 is in effect.

• Commissioner of Oaths is available at our Village Office.

• Our office is closed to the public during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are able to take your calls and answer questions you may have. Please practice social distancing. Stay Home, Stay Safe!!

• Great News! Council has approved the Tax Bylaw with a 0% increase for Residential and Non-Residential Properties.

• Deferred Utilities for April 1st, 2020 through July 1st, 2020 are available by request to our Village Office. If you find yourself in need of assistance please know we are here to help.

MESSAGE FROM PUBLIC WORKS

• Please have your garbage bagged & out for pick up on Wednesdays by 8:00 am

• Recycling is resuming at the transfer site starting May 5th, 2020 - New Rules in Effect due to COVID-19, refer to our website.

• Rubble Bins are back for the Month of May - New Rules in Effect due to Covid-19, refer to our website.

• Transfer Site hours – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Village of Acme is now accepting applications for two full-time summer student employees as Public Work Labourers. Applicants must be physically fit, have a valid driver’s license and be available to work July 2nd – August 31st inclusive.
