COUNCIL MEETINGS – As the Village Office and Council Chambers are closed to the public, there is an option to join the Council Meetings by calling the following teleconference number: 1-403-917-1573. This is for listening purposes only – no questions will be answered unless you are on the Agenda. Please keep your mute button on.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS – The Village of Carbon Municipal Office and the Public Works Office is closed to the public. Administration and Public Works continue to work regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Contact the Village Office if you have any questions or concerns.

SPRING CLEAN-UP – May 14 to 16. Thursday, May 14: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, May 15: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 16: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. LOCATION: Reservoir, top of Eagles Hill, North of Hwy. 836 on Cemetery Hill Road (gravel).

FREE MULCH AND FIREWOOD – During Spring Clean Up, there will be a skid steer available to load mulch and free firewood (must load yourself).

RECYCLING PROGRAM – The recycling program has been reinstated in Carbon. Cardboard (flattened) and Newspaper can be recycled using the bins at the Diamond Valley Subdivision.

CARBON TRANSFER STATION – The Carbon Transfer site is for household garbage ONLY. All garbage MUST be bagged and cannot be loose. Please remember to be respectful to the Attendants as they are only doing their job and can refuse any load.

CARBON CAMPGROUNDS – Opening June 1st at 50% capacity, following AHS recommendations.

CARBON CENTENNIAL OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL – Due to COVID-19, the Carbon Outdoor Swimming Pool will be closed for the 2020 season. We look forward to a great season in 2021!

DIAMOND VALLEY SUBDIVISION ~ REDUCED PRICES! – In an attempt to draw people to our community, the Diamond Valley Subdivision Lot Prices have been reduced! The Village of Carbon is a beautiful community that has much to offer! ATTENTION PUBLIC: The Village of Carbon is offering Diamond Valley Subdivision reduced lots from $5,000 and ranging up to $7,500. Incentives will be given for building within one (1) year or eighteen (18) months plus recreation incentives. Please direct all lot & information inquires to Royal LePage Country Realty, Main Street, Three Hills, AB. 403-443-2008. As per MGA, Section 70 (1), if a municipality purposes to transfer or grant an estate or interest in (a) land for less than its market value. the proposal must be advertised.

Development Permit 2020-01 Lots 15-16, Block 7, Plan 4387P R-2 Permit issued for a Sea-Can as a Garden Shed placed on a Garden Plot.

Development Permit 2020-02 Lot C, Block 6, Plan 8010272 M-1 Permit issued for Communication Tower.

Any person claiming to be affected by this decision, may appeal to the Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board by serving written notice to the Clerk of the Regional SDAB (c/o Parkland Community Planning Services, Unit B, 4730 Ross Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1X3) within twenty-one (21) days after the notice of decision.
