Invest in Your Community - Get Involved!
Did you know that property assessments and planning and development decisions can be appealed and those appeals are heard by someone other than elected officials and municipal staff? You can be part of this important function in your community!
Annually, Council appoints members to the Inter-Municipal Local Assessment Review Board and Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. Applications are now being accepted from persons interested in joining these two boards. Training will be provided at the expense of Kneehill County. Board members will receive remuneration and expenses for board responsibilities.
Applications are available electronically from the Kneehill County website. www.kneehillcounty.com or can be picked up at the Kneehill County Administrative Office. Applications can be submitted to Kneehill County no later than 4:00 p.m., on Friday, October 17, 2014, by e-mail to execassist@kneehillcounty.com or dropped off at the County Administration Building.


Nominations now open for the 2015 FARM FAMILY AWARD

Kneehill County ASB & Council recognize together with the Calgary Stampede the importance of honoring farm families. These who best typify the ideals and way of life for the farm family unit and their contributions to the enhancement of the family's quality of life, their rural community and society.
Guidelines for nominations are described as per Kneehill County ASB Policy #1-32-3 which is on www.kneehillcounty.com website. The guidelines include Community Involvement, Agricultural Industry Involvement & Business Updates, Team Farm Management, and Technical Farm Practices.

Please note, however, that developments listed as a "Permitted Use" may only be appealed if the development standards (e.g. setback distances) have been relaxed or varied, or if an affected person has determined that the Development Authority has misinterpreted the Land Use Bylaw. Developments listed as a "Discretionary Use" may be appealed if an affected person has a legitimate grievance, or if the aforementioned reasons relating to Permitted Uses apply.
