REMINDER FROM PUBLIC WORKS – Black knot is a disease of plants that has been spotted all over the Village of Linden. The most distinguishing symptom of Black Knot is the characteristic black, tar-like swellings that develop on branches of the infected plant. Initially, a small, olive-green gall or swelling will develop at a succulent growing point of fruit spur. Once a gall is mature, after two to three years, it will produce and release a vast number of spores during the bloom period resulting in rapid increase of infection. Knot baring branches should be trimmed during late fall, winter or very early spring while plants are dormant, and knots are easy to see. As a precaution, cutting blades should be cleaned after cutting through infected material, branches should be trimmed 15 – 20 cm below the knot. Diseased wood must be destroyed immediately. More information on black knot can be obtained at the Village of Linden Office or by visiting www.plantnatural.com.

TAX NOTICES – Tax Notices will be sent out by the last week of June, property taxes are due July 31, 2019.

The Village of Linden offers a tax installment payment plan, stop by the Office or call 403 546 3888 to find out more.
