MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE OFFICE

• Due to COVID-19 the Village Office is Closed to the public from November 13 – November 27 inclusive. If you need to make a bill payment and are unable to do so on-line, please call the office to book an appointment. Thank you for your patience.

• UPDATE: The Village of Acme submitted an application with DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM in regards to the overland flooding issues the Village experienced May 31st, 2020. WE HAVE BEEN APPROVED!! We strongly encourage all residents who had any damages occur to their homes or business apply for the funding. You will be assigned a case manager. They will contact you to discuss your damages and assess if they are able to assist you with funding for damages. Please refer to the Acme website or watch for the poster advertisement in the Capital. If you require assistance in completing your application, please call the Village office at 403-546-3783 to book an appointment.

• The Village Office remains open during COVID-19. We have implemented mandatory face masks until further notice due to the number of cases in the Kneehill area. Thank you for your cooperation.

• November 28th – Christmas Cookie Walk from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Acme United Church. We supply the container, you pick your cookies for a cost of $10.00. COVID-19 AHS Rules apply.

• December 7th – Annual Candy Cane Run – Bag Drop Off. Food Hamper Instructions will be attached to the bags.

• December 14th – Annual Candy Cane Run – Bag Pick Up.

• If residents wish to drop off cash/cheque donations, they may leave donations at the Acme BMO from December 1st – December 11th, 2020. If you’re in need of a Christmas Food Hamper, please contact Carol at 403-620-0176 prior to December 11th, 2020.

• December 16th – Acme’s Annual Christmas Light Competition – Judging will take place at 6 p.m. 1st, 2nd, 3rd,4th, 5th and 6th place prizes to be won. Sponsored by the Acme Angels. Let’s show our community spirit!!

• Christmas Gifts for Grandparents – Due to COVID-19 we will only be accepting cash donations, then the Senior’s Outreach staff will purchase the gifts. Please contact Senior’s Outreach at 403-443-2555 to learn more.

• The Acme Library is open once again. New hours: Tuesday & Thursday 4 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Wednesday is curb-side service from noon till 2 p.m. Please check their website for Alberta Health Guidelines and restrictions due to COVID-19.

• Did you know? Every resident in Acme must register their pet(s) with the Village Office. Refer to Animal Bylaw # 2019-11 on our website for more info. Watch for mail in November regarding Cat and Dog Licensing. We now offer online banking as a payment option. Call the office for more details. Registration/Licensing is due January 31st, 2021. Be sure to let us know if you have had any changes; new pet(s), deceased pet(s). We have forms at the Village Office or we can send you the forms via email upon your request.

• Transfer Site hours – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

• Please have your garbage bagged & out for pick up on Wednesdays by 8:00 am.
