EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

GENERAL LABOURER

Temporary (6 Months) Full-Time

The Town is looking for a safety minded individual to assist our utility team in performing their everyday tasks.

The ideal candidate will have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, endurance and flexibility. The ability to understand and communicate information is essential. This position also requires working outside in all kinds of weather.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of a Grade 12 diploma or GED certificate; and

• Minimum of a valid Class 5 Drivers License; and

• No previous experience is required – entry level position.

WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday, Full Time, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

RATE OF PAY: As per CUPE Local 417-05 Collective Agreement.

SUMMER EMPLOYEE

Temporary Full-Time

The role of the Summer Staff is to provide assistance to employees in completing their assigned tasks and provide manual labour or administrative services as required in public works, parks and recreation, utility, waste, facilities or administration.

Duties may include:

• Assisting the Parks Department in various activities, such as mowing and weeding Town parks and tree maintenance.

• Assisting with Facility maintenance which may include sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, washing surfaces, vacuuming, empty trash, etc.

• Assisting the Public Works Department in various activities, such as waste collection, litter picking, line painting, road maintenance and barricades.

• Assisting the Utility Department in various activities, such as painting pipes, mowing at utility related job sites, cleaning pumphouses, etc.

• Various other duties as assigned.

Candidates must have a valid class 5 drivers license and be available to work weekends.

ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK II

Permanent Full-Time

The Town of Three Hills is looking for individuals who can work in a fast-paced environment to join the Finance Department. The main responsibilities may include any of the following: accounts payable, utilities, property taxes, and customer service.

We are looking for a dynamic team member with a keen eye for detail, strong financial accounting skills, advanced Microsoft Excel ability, the capacity to cross-train for multiple responsibilities, and the ability to multi-task efficiently.

The goal will be to ensure accurate financial and administrative operations for the Town while providing management with accurate and timely information to ensure municipal operations are maintained in an effective and efficient manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Provide documentation of completion of a grade 12 diploma or GED certificate.

• Post-secondary education in accounting or business required; related work experience may be substituted for some or all of the educational requirement.

• High level of competency with Microsoft Excel essential.

• Must have effective communication skills and the ability to understand oral and written instructions.

• Municipal experience a definite asset.

WORK HOURS: Full Time, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week.
