NOTICE OF 2019 UTILITY RATE INCREASE
Utility rates for Town of Three Hills services will increase for March 31, 2019 following third reading of Bylaw 1431-19 Fees, Rates & Charges - Common Services at the February 11, 2019 Regular Council Meeting.
Rates and fees for water, sewer, recycling and solid waste have increased to cover utility operating costs, as well as current and future capital costs. The rate increases were implemented in accordance with Councils vision, which directs the municipality to ensure utility services are self-sustaining and not supported by other revenue-generating areas.
As the Town moves towards attaining total cost recovery in the service and maintenance of Town utilities (including the present upgrades to our water treatment plant) it is essential for the Town to increase user fees. With the exception of water, many utility rates and fees have not increased in the last 8 years.
How will this affect you?
The average single-family home can anticipate a monthly increase of approximately $5.00 or 6% per month.
Commercial increases will vary depending on the function of the business as well as the services obtained by the municipality. The average Town of Three Hills business can anticipate an increase of approximately 7% per month.

TOWN OF THREE HILLS 2019 ASSESSMENT NOTICES
Pursuant to Section 311 of the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, Chapter M-26 and any amendments thereto, the 2019 Assessment Notices for the Town of Three Hills were mailed on March 7, 2019, to all assessed property owners. Town of Three Hills property owners are deemed to have received their Assessment Notices as a result of this publication.
Please review the property assessment notice carefully. You may contact the Town at (403) 443-5822 or Wildrose Assessment Services at (403) 343-3357 to obtain further information on your property. The assessment roll is open for inspection and can be reviewed at the Town Office located at 232 Main Street, during regular business hours.
Complaints, commonly referred to as appeals, must be received within sixty (60) days of the notice date, which is March 14, 2019. If you or your agent desire to object to your or any other assessment, you or your agent must complete and file an Assessment Review Board Complaint to the Assessment Review Board Clerk by Monday, May 13, 2019 with the applicable fee.
