Kneehill Historical Society celebrates summer

Forty volunteers, supporters and directors of the Kneehill Historical Society came together August 23rd for an evening, ‘Celebrating the Summer’, at the Museum. The supper, with program, gave Society members an opportunity to thank many people who had contributed to progress at the Museum this summer, and especially, to showcase the work and research projects of the 2017 summer season employees, Manager Catherine Loewen and her assistants, Jonathan Munan and Nicole Tainsh.

New Tennis Courts to include Pickleball

Tomko, of Calgary, were in Three Hills last Friday to pave the new tennis courts. Tomko are tennis court specialists and were in town earlier to test the court base to ensure that it was stable. The pavement must now cure before they return to apply the new (plexipave) court surface. The court lines for three tennis courts will be applied along with four pickle ball courts. 48th Annual Flower, Baking & Photography Show held in Trochu

Leona Pryor, the chief organizer and spokesperson for the Trochu 48th Annual Flower, Baking & Photography Show, was quite pleased with the number and quality of submissions to the event held at the Community Hall on August 16.

Doors opened at 2 pm and refreshments, (home baking, luncheon sandwiches and tea) were being served from 2 to 4 pm. The chicken supper, prepared by Sweet Grass Café, was served at 6:00 pm.

Prairie College to host “Show & Shine”

Prairie College in Three Hills will be hosting a classic car and bike Show & Shine on September 2, 2017, to raise funds in support of needed campus construction projects. Car enthusiast Dave Crossley, who is part of Prairie’s maintenance team, is putting the event together.
