Delectable Desserts and Music Too!

The Trochu Valley School Band put on another great performance for the community during their spring fundraiser, Delectable Desserts, at the Trochu Community Hall on Sunday, March 25.

The grade six band opened up the show at 2 p.m. with playing Penguin Promenade. They were followed by the grade seven band, then the grade eight band, and the senior band wrapped up the show playing before and after the school’s Rock Steady performance.

Maxwell Centre hosts Rosebud Chamber Music Festival

Rosebud Chamber Music Festival, under the direction of the RCMF Founder and Artistic Director Keith Hamm, and with narration by Rosebud Theatre Artistic Director Morris Ertman, presented Joseph Haydn’s Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross at the Maxwell Centre Atrium on Wednesday, March 7.

Haydn’s classic work was performed by Keith Hamm, viola; Julie Hereish, cello; Sheila Jaffe’, violin; and Elizabeth Skinner, violin.

“The Foreigner”, will keep you in stitches

“The Foreigner” written by Larry Shue and presented at the Three Hills Arts Academy, under the Direction of Floyd Cotton, will keep you in stitches.

It was entertaining to hear the director himself guffawing during the performance and this was after sitting through the several rehearsals and two shows.

The play is presented as a comedy, and the setting and plot certainly lends themselves to some very comic situations and dialogue.

Three Hills Arts Academy is presenting a two act comedy written by Larry Shue called “The Foreigner”. It is a comedy built around what would happen if someone were so shy that they couldn’t participate in a conversation.
