Checkstops to continue into Holiday Season

On November 6, 2010, Three Hills RCMP joined forces with Red Deer Fish and Wildlife and Red Deer County Patrol to conduct a large scale checkstop.
The checkstop was held at the intersection of Highway 21 and Highway 590 near Elnora. The focus of the checkstop was to enforce all provincial and federal laws. During the 4 1/2 hr inititiative, a total of 13 provincial charges were laid related to liquor offences, documentation offences, and suspended driver offences.  Two alcohol screening tests were conducted, two motor vehicles were seized, one male was arrested for possession of marijuana, and one female was arrested for breach of a conditional sentence.
Three Hills RCMP reminds the public that random checkstops will continue into the months of November and December with an effort to enforce all laws including those related to impaired driving and alcohol.
