Three Hills Fire and Rescue, Three Hills RCMP, Kneehill County Peace Officers, three EMS ambulances and S.T.A.R.S. responded to a two vehicle crash Thursday, August 10 at about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 27 East and Rge Rd 22-3.

Upon arrival crews discovered two pickup trucks that had collided. One truck had two males and one female passenger. The other truck had a single male occupant. Extrication was required on both vehicles.

S.T.A.R.S. landed on the highway and flew the driver of the single passenger vehicle to Calgary’s Foothills Hospital. The other three victims were road ambulanced.

Apparently the northbound vehicle entered the intersection and was T-boned by the eastbound pick-up.

Highway 27 remained closed until 9 p.m., but a detour was established to allow traffic flow.

An RCMP re-construction team, from Calgary, arrived to assist with the investigation.
