Structure fire causes extensive damage to Industrial Park

Linden Industrial Fire

Emergency Services were dispatched to a structure fire at an Industrial Park just to the south west of Linden, along Hwy 806, on Friday, Nov. 23 at around 5:45 a.m. Linden Fire and Rescue received mutual aid from Acme, Carbon, Three Hills, and Torrington Fire Departments to put out the fire in what was a hog barn in years past. The facility now has many separate bays and is used for storage of equipment and product for Pebble Creek, Stampede Steel, and S & G Concrete businesses. A faulty thermostat on the furnace seems to have been the likely source of the fire but is still under investigation.

A local firefighter sustained non-life threatening injuries when he fell, breaking some bones. He was transported to hospital.

Fire services remained on scene for many hours. There was complete structural damage to the building and loss of equipment. There was no loss of life and the other structures, located quite close, were all saved.
