Harvest for Kids crop estimated at 11,254 bushels

Harvest Kids Lineup 2019

Harvest for Kids 2019, took place at the Kevin and Linda Price farm on Thursday October 24. Harvest for Kids, is a Fundraising program under Children’s Camps International (CCI) that has farmers convert designated crops into cash value and for every $4.00 raised, one child in a developing country gets to attend a Christian Camp for one week and the follow up program organized under a local church.

Harvest for Kids this year had seven combines, six trucks, three ATVs and photographers. A BBQ was provided for harvest participants, sponsors and a crowd of supporters.

This year’s wheat crop yield is estimated at 11,254 bushels from 120 acres, and should mean approximately 17,500 children will be going to camp.

None of this could have come to pass without the efforts of all of the farmers and sponsors who invested in this project. From seed drills, sprayers, swathers, combines, grain trucks, fuel trucks, to the costly inputs all donated, plus all those who helped with food, and logistics, it can be summed up - “A community giving back is a wonderful thing!”
