Aquatic Centre receives new roof and exterior siding

Aquatic Center Roof 1

Three Hills Aquatic Centre is a beehive of activity once again.

The pool and splash park are re-opened to the public, with Covid-19 restrictions in place.

Work has begun on replacing the roof and brick exterior of the facility.

Top Roof and Exteriors has been awarded the $241,782.00 contract. This includes the removal of the existing roofing system and adding additional insulation, bringing the roof to an R30 - factor. Kneehill County contributed $200,000 toward this project. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of August, 2020.

The exterior brickwork on the aquatic centre has experienced deterioration over the past number of years. This has resulted in large areas of heat loss throughout the exterior.

Greenough Construction Ltd. has been awarded the $222,743.00 contract that includes the removal and replacement of the existing exterior finish.

The new exterior wall will be comprised of vertical metal siding which will be blue at the upper portion and tan on the lower section, similar to the present color scheme.

This project is also slated to be completed by the end of August, 2020.
