Three Hills Health Care Auxiliary Update

The Three Hills Health Care Auxiliary is alive and well and is proud of the projects completed this year.
Our executive includes Marion Johnson, President; Janis Reiter, Secretary and Linda Torpy, Treasurer.  We have 12 active members and we would welcome any new members interested in our work. We hosted a tea at the hospital during the Tribute to Nurses Week, which was well-attended.
For the continuing care unit we have purchased new hymn books, various activity resources and a new sound system.
A Hill-rom stretcher was obtained for the emergency unit.  Two vital signs machines were purchased, one for continuing care and one for emergency. A blood collection tray and new surgical lights were purchased.
Through local merchant, rural and individual donations all patient televisions were replaced with flat screen TVs. A flat screen TV was also placed in the Public Health Department waiting room.
We also purchased some equipment for Home Care for the use of patients or for rental purposes.  This equipment included portable grab bars, a heavy-duty transport chair, lifts, etc.
The Auxiliary maintains a gift cupboard, which includes baby items and patient gifts for sale.  Most of the items are made by members of the Auxiliary and members of the community.
Future plans include an upgrade to the respite room and purchase of other equipment, which will benefit the patients.
The monies donated to the Three Hills Health Care Auxiliary are used to benefit our local facility in all departments. We appreciate your support in our mandate to make a difference in our local facility.
