Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

Do you need help with your basic income tax return? If so, you may be eligible to access the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) through Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS). The service is strictly confidential and free of charge to low income residents with simple tax situations.

For 21 years running, volunteers in the Kneehill area have been donating their time and expertise to the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. The program is available to low income families, students, seniors and newcomers, and follows the eligibility criteria and guidelines set out by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program volunteers are trained to do basic tax returns and cannot complete tax returns for individuals who are deceased, bankrupt, have capital gains/losses, employment expenses, self-employed or have rental income and expenses.

If you have any questions about the Kneehill Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, or would like to make an appointment, please contact the CVITP Coordinator Rochelle at 403-443-3800.

If you have tax related questions, we encourage you to contact the Canada Revenue Agency Help Line at 1-800-959-8281, as neither our staff nor volunteers are qualified to answer these questions.
