It has been 100 years since Acme was incorporated as a Village, back on July 10, 1910, the very same day that the first passenger and freight train arrived at the Village. The name was given to the community by railroad surveyors for being the highest (most northern) point of the route at that time. The community maintained that privilege until 1921 when the railroad extended to Drumheller.

Firefighters contain blaze at Lone Pine

Linden Fire Department was dispatched around 4:30 p.m. on Monday when embers from a smoldering fire in a burning pit were picked up by strengthening winds to spark a fire in scattered sawdust and wood pallets at the back (east) side of Lone Pine, a sawdust packing facility located a mile west of Linden.
The resulting fire quickly spread out into the green grass of pasture land, gaining intensity as it fed off of perimeter fence posts and stacked pallets, while winds continued to fan it. Linden F

29TH Annual Cruise Nite draws big numbers

It was all smiles on Saturday, June 5 as the Three Hills Street Freaks welcomed sunshine, exhibitors and thousands of spectators to the 29th annual Cruise Nite/Show and Shine and Swap Meet.
Street Freaks Chair Kevin Price reports that a solid 500 vehicles were registered for the Show and Shine with an equal amount of special interest vehicles parked on side streets.
The big hit of the event was the "Dyno" that measured vehicle horsepower. The Dyno was busy from 9 am to 5 pm with the owner comment
