Three Hills Health Centre Site Leader Michelle Shereck accepts a cheque for $1,266 from Mark Hosking, Three Hills and District Chamber of Commerce President. The funds were raised at a recent Three Hills and District Chamber of Commerce Fun Two Ball Golf Tournament. In a previously report of Acme Council meeting, dated July 26, 2010 regarding a sale agreement for a lot on Main Street, the sale agreement was not stopped, but delayed, due to the proposed building not fitting lot size. Town bids farewell to landmark building

 

A Three Hills landmark was demolished Tuesday, August 3, 2010.
What was constructed as the Union Bank of Canada in 1913 went on to house a number of Three Hills businesses.
Located on the northwest corner of 3rd Ave. and Main Street, directly west of the Post Office, the Union Bank went on to be the Royal Bank in 1935.
In 1939, Traders Furniture made its first home there.
Les Arnold renovated the building and operated a locker and cold storage plant.

Standing Up For Farmers: Last week at the conclusion of the annual meeting of Agriculture Ministers, federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz and Ministers from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta together announced vital help for hard-hit Prairie farmers and producers affected by recent flooding.  Affected producers will share $450 million in extra payments under the federal Agri-Recovery program.  The assistance package will amount to $30 per acre and will be cost-shared by the Prairie Provinces
