Changes at Tro-Val School: It is not only the principal that has changed. After 33 years of teaching, including the last eight years leading Trochu Valley School, Gib Andruski ended his tenure as principal in June, handing over the reins to Vice-Principal Debbie Barkman. Trochu Town Council Report

 

Barry Kletke will once again take over the reins as Mayor of the Town of Trochu, while Bill Cunningham steps in as Deputy Mayor. Once those formalities were out of the way, October 25's meeting was an evening to exchange and explain. New councillors were advised that although most meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 6 pm, there will be a change to three dates in November that will make up for Christmas and the annual convention for Urban Municipalities (Nov. 22-25). Pete McRae who has been looking after Operations for the County (since the departure of Rob Mayhew), reported at Council's Oct. 14 meeting that the Selkirk Water Service Area (WSA) has experienced delays due to weather. "The contractor has been rained out for a total of 19 days to date." He advised that Chinook Pipelines and Spider Plow were shut down for Thanksgiving but weather permitting, Spider Plow should complete its work by the end of October.
