A public hearing regarding the ex-hamlet strategy and designation - By-law 1612, was held at the County office during Council's October 26 meetting. It was well attended with ratepayers asking for further confirmation on details and the affect this by-law will have on property they own in the designated area and sometimes, adjacent to it. RCMP investigate recent thefts/break-ins

 

Tuesday, November 2 at about 5:15 a.m., an employee of the ATB Linden Branch interrupted a robbery in progress. The employee was on a routine walk with her dogs when she heard glass breaking and observed two males, wearing balaclavas, ramming the front of the bank with a Bobcat. Witnesses also saw a white truck and trailer, as well as another truck suspiciously close to the scene. The employee reached a place of safety and phoned the robbery into police. Changes at Tro-Val School: It is not only the principal that has changed. After 33 years of teaching, including the last eight years leading Trochu Valley School, Gib Andruski ended his tenure as principal in June, handing over the reins to Vice-Principal Debbie Barkman.
