Help change Ruben's life

 

You will have seen this boy's face on the collection tins on the tills at Three Hills IGA. The money being donated through the tins is being sent to a charity and it is used to feed children in the impoverished country of Nicaragua.
Last spring 13 people from Three Hills had the privilege of helping out at the program and that is where the picture was taken.
So who is the boy?
His name is Ruben and he is from a family of 10 children. Each morning he gets up early to help prepare the tortilla

Here Comes Santa Cause raises over $8,000

The Three Hills and District Chamber of Commerce hosted their third annual, "Here Comes Santa Cause," fundraising event Monday evening. The Three Hills Community Center was filled with decorated wreaths, decadent desserts, and over 80 silent auction items. The crowd enjoyed a beef on a bun supper, donated by Get n' Go/ Pizza Hut. Darren Toews, of Linalta Auction Services, donated his time to make the evening a great success, raising about $8,400. The proceeds will be presented to the Three Hill

Acme Bank of Montreal ATM stolen

 

The Automated Teller Machine (ATM) was yanked from the walls of the Acme Branch of the Bank of Montreal some time in the early hours of Saturday, December 4.
The crime was reported to police at 5:15 am, the same time slot as one month ago when an active robbery was reported in progress at ATB Financial in Linden (Tuesday, Nov. 2). The thieves were interrupted before they could make away with the bank machine, abandoning some of the stolen vehicles they were using to commit the crime.
