Elmer Davis

December 5, 1934 - April 24, 2017 - Elmer Stanley Davis passed away, April 24, 2017, peacefully in his home with his family by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. Elmer was born at the family farm west of Three Hills to Henry and Carrie Davis, baby number 6 of 10 children. Elmer was an active young man who excelled in many things. He was a carpenter, musician, farmer, business owner, school bus driver, truck driver, volunteer fireman, and jack of all trades. Elmer married the love of his life, Irene Peterson, on August 4, 1962. He and Irene together had 4 children: Kim, Lynn, Pam and Stanley. Elmer and Irene started their life together in Sunnyslope, moving to Linden, then finally settling on their farm west of Huxley. Elmer’s dream was to remain at the farm until he was called to his heavenly home. His family including Irene, his children, and his grandchildren worked together with love to care for him and made this dream a reality. Elmer was predeceased by his parents (Henry and Carrie Davis), Irene’s parents (Everett and Helen Petersen), 6 brothers and 1 sister, as well as his only son Stanley in 2009. Elmer/Dad/Papa/Great Papa will be dearly missed by Irene his wife of 54+ years, his 3 daughters Kim Pannequin (Johnny), Lynn Jackson (Dwayne), and Pam Guard (Ron), his daughter in-law Jennifer Keith (Ryan), as well as his 14 grandchildren along with their 9 spouses, and his 18 precious great grandchildren. A Celebration of Elmer’s Life was held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Trochu Community Center, Trochu, Alberta.
