WRIGHT, James J.

Jim Wright

James J. Wright (Jim) was born in Trochu, Alberta in 1940. Jim lived in, and received his formal schooling in Three Hills, until the school of life called and he answered, by taking on a job in an industry that his Mom and Grandmother both earned their livelihoods. Jim worked for Alberta Government Telephones (AGT/Telus) for 35 years as a combination-man, serving many people in the Three Hills vicinity over the years. After retiring from AGT, he worked as the Manager of the Three Hills Golf Club for 19 years, enjoying every moment of “service to the people”. Jim also enjoyed his semi-retired job of delivering parts for NAPA auto. In between, he took on many innovative business ventures that brought him enjoyment and challenge, which he loved! Jim enjoyed a variety of pursuits, and he belonged to numerous community organizations over the years including: The Elks Club, The Kinsmen and K-40 Club, The Masons, The Three Hills Flying Club, and The Three Hills Golf Club. Jim enjoyed life, and all the things that it had to offer, whether it was a drive in his truck in the countryside, or a golf game with the “boys”, or whistling and singing along to a song on the radio. In life, Jim enjoyed tinkering and playing with model airplanes, drones, blimps, or technology that was the latest and greatest. Jim also had a deep desire to design and build wood working projects. Jim enjoyed people, and loved to make others laugh. Jim certainly above all, had a deep and devoted partnership and love with Ruth. After being diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, Jim still did his best to live life on his terms. He was able to stay home and enjoy visits with many people who would stop in to “shoot the breeze” with him. His positive attitude and sense of humor stayed with him until the very end, and will live on with his family. Jim is predeceased by his Mother Bess Wright and his Father Savella J Wright and his half Brother Bob Wright. Left behind to carry on Jim’s legacy: his beloved wife of 55 years, “Ruthie”, his children, Cameron (Chantelle), Heather (Mark) Enzie, Grandchildren Claire and Blake Enzie, Brother Jack (Sue) Wright, and Sister Vellrie (Gary) Hoglund and families. He lived a full and happy life, and we are honored to celebrate the “dash” between the day he entered this world and the day he left it. Jim would certainly encourage you to do the same. At Jim’s request, there will be no formal service: a private celebration of life is being held at a later date. Those who so desire, may make memorial donations in memory of Jim to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. 47 Squire Bakers Lane Markham, Ontario L3P 3G8. http://cpff.ca/get-involved/donate/ “What I’m going to miss is what’s going to happen tomorrow. But I’ve had a great life, and I’ve done everything I wanted to do, I have zero regrets. I will see you again… nothing but blue skies do I see.” Jim 2017.
