CLEARWATER - Bryan John Clearwater (BJ) of Huxley, Alberta, passed away Feb. 11th 2011 at Three Hills, Alberta, after a long battle with cancer. BJ  was born May 16th,1969 in Owaka, New Zealand. He grew up on his father's sheep and cattle farm, on the west coast near the Waitomo caves. He spent his days riding his horse and pig hunting. BJ came to Huxley area in 1991 as an Agricultural Exchange student, working for Bruce Hogg and Gary Adams. He then spent three years sheep grazing in B.C. With a taste of Canadian rodeo, he returned as a snowbird every April through November; entering as many rodeos as possible (FCA, Chinook, LRA). BJ was accomplished saddle bronc and bull rider in New Zealand and Canada. He was a finalist many times at the NZRCA, 1997 & 1998 LRA finalist and 2003 & 2004 CARA  saddle bronc champion. As a family together , BJ had a place to call home. Introducing the sheep producing world to all he loved. Later on he was a self proclaimed bow hunter. He is survived by his loving wife Twilla and three daughters Quaylee, Tawny and JC-Lyn. His father, Robert Clearwater and three sisters Lynley (Ross) Colleen, Jenette, all of New Zealand. His brother-in-laws, Kevin (Sharon), Ken (Ilene) , Ted (Gail),  Derek (Sherry) Hehr, and  nieces and nephews. He is  predeceased by his loving mother Verna Clearwater. As well as Twilla's parents, Mervin and Gladys Hehr both in 2004. A celebration of his life will be held at the Wimborne Hall, Wimborne, AB. Saturday, February 19th at 1:30.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: "BJ Clearwater and Family in Trust" at the ATB in Trochu.
