TREMBLAY, Cindy Lynn (Braconnier)

Cindy Diack

Cindy Lynn (Braconnier) Tremblay, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, at the age of 56 years. Cindy Lynn Braconnier was born on Monday, May 4th, 1964 in Three Hills AB to George & Shirley Braconnier. She was their fourth child and the second girl of the family. Cindy’s father passed away in 1979, and after his passing, the family moved to St. Paul and Cindy quit school and went to work. Cindy’s life did not follow the typical path of graduating from school, getting a job, getting married, having kids and living in a house with a white picket fence. Instead her life was interwoven with family and work with no clear divisional timeline. On June 12, 1984. Cindy gave birth to her first child Candice. Four years later, Ryan was born on April 3rd, 1988, Cindy held a variety of jobs.

She worked at the Met in St. Paul, starting out as a cashier and advancing to assistant manager in a very short time. After the Met closed, she chose a different path, and began an apprenticeship as a welder. Cindy really enjoyed being a welder, but wasn’t able to achieve her welder’s ticket---and this we will blame on her grandson Nicholas, who was born the morning she was to write her final test. She then switched career paths and worked in the Payroll department at Bulldog, and later RJB. Cindy was never one to be content with her lot in life and was always trying to better herself. Just before she took sick (she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in November, 2019) she achieved her life insurance agent certification. Once constant in Cindy’s life was her family. Family was always a priority to her. She loved her kids, but she adored her grandkids. Her first grandchild, Nicholas, was born on Feb. 24 in 2003. At this time the discussion arose. What should we call you, Gramma or Baba? And Cindy replied anything but Granny. So Granny it was. For many years Nicholas was the only grandchild. But then Candice married Farley in 2013, and Ryan married Megan in 2015 and the race was on. Ryan and Megan had Nate on June 15, 2017. Candice & Farley were not far behind and had Mathew 9 days later. Then Ryan and Megan had Vann on March 24, 2019. This time Candice and Farley were a little slower and Katie arrived 17 days later on April 10th. Cindy loved life. And she will be missed by all of us. Honorary Pallbearers were Nicholas Braconnier, Matthew Obrigewitch, Vann Tremblay, Chuck Braconnier, Katie Obrigewitch, Nate Tremblay, Alan Braconnier and Lenny Braconnier. Urnbearers (children) were Candice Obrigewitch and Ryan Tremblay. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her children: Candice (Dustin) Obrigewitch and Ryan (Meagan) Tremblay both of Mannville; 5 grandchildren Nicholas Braconnier, Matthew and Katie Obrigewitch, Nate and Vann Tremblay; sisters Terry Ann Diack of Three Hills, Penny (Martial) Poulin of St. Paul; brothers Alan, Chuck and Lenny Braconnier, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents George and Shirley Braconnier, Brother-in-law Brian Diack and Niece Jayda Kulczcki. A celebration of Cindy’s life was held Wed., August 26, 2020 at the Mannville Recreation Centre in Mannville, Alberta. Internment at Mannville Cemetery followed. Donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, Haying in the 30’s or charity of choice.
