Richard Dale Evans was born July 9, 1947. Dale lived his entire life in the Three Hills area. He grew up on the family farm west of Three Hills and was raised learning about cattle, horses and operation of farm equipment from a very early age. As a boy, Dale had a kind and caring heart for his many rescued pets which included a crow, owls, rabbits and especially his many dogs from Heinz 57 to purebred German Shepherds. Dale married Yvonne Hiller in 1966. They farmed on the Evans homestead and together raised two children, James and Leanne. Over the years Dale had several hobbies. He was an avid photographer, developing his own pictures, played guitar, was a gun enthusiast, obtained his pilot’s license and was an active member of the Three Hills Flying Club. He was very proud of these accomplishments. Dale spent many years in the purebred horned Hereford cattle industry, a long time contributor at the Calgary Bull Sale and 3 IN 1 Production Sale. After dispersing the herd in 1992, Dale worked at the Price Feedlot at Acme until his retirement. During this time his health started to deteriorate. He moved into town in 2015. Dale leaves to mourn, his wife Cheryl, son J.R. (Darlene), granddaughters Jaylene and Julia, and daughter Leanne (Michael) Keys and granddaughter Erin. One sister Darlene (Bruce) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dale was predeceased by his mother (Evelyn) 1999 and father (Wilfred) 2008. Dale will be laid to rest at a private service at the Davis Cemetery.
