BAERG, Peter David

Peter Baerg

Peter passed away on January 14, 2021 at the age of 79 in Penticton BC. He was laid to rest on January 23 where Pastor Jeremy Cook recalled how Pete had held several positions in the Oliver Alliance Church, always doing so with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eye. He shared how Pete was a kind person who did not complain about any task he was given. Pete’s favourite Bible verses were Isaiah 40:31 and Psalm 23: 1-4, and he was fully prepared to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Pete is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, son Brad (Paula), daughter Brenda (Terry) Snell, daughter Bev (Albert) Neufeld along with 6 grandchildren and two great grandsons. He is also survived by his sister Anne and Abe Unger, brothers Jake and Vera, Abe and Verleen, Ben and Betty, Neil and Sue, and brothers in laws, Robert (Jean) Thiessen, Herb (Nancy) Thiessen, Rick (Aldene) Thiessen and many nieces and nephews. He was an avid sports fan and in his younger years participated in hockey, baseball, soccer, skiing, and fishing. He embraced life and was waiting for spring so that he could go back to Alberta to see his latest great grandson and check up on how everything was running on the farm in his absence. All the doctors knew about his harvesting days and of his family that he truly loved.
