ISAAC, Noah

ISAAC, Noah - My beloved husband, our father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Noah Isaac was born February 13, 1922, to Abraham and Edna Isaac at Swalwell, Alberta. God called him to his eternal home on February 24, 2011, reaching the age of 89 years. He enjoyed good health until two and a half years ago. Death was the result of complications due to old age. Dad was born on the family farm and lived there for 80 years. He attended the Linden School half a mile north of the farm. Dad gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on December 26, 1937. He remained true to the faith. Dad spent time in a CO camp in the Kaanaskis area and then returned home to the farm. Dad married Lea Klassen on September 14, 1947. They were blessed with four daughters and two sons. Mom passed away after 34 years of marriage, leaving Dad very lonely. On October 17, 1982, he married Beulah Unruh and they enjoyed 28 years together. As a family, we appreciate the loving care Mom gave Dad. Dad was a farmer at heart and also loved carpentry. He provided well for us. In his retirement he spent many hours in his woodworking shop. We treasure the many gifts he made for us. Dad loved travelling with his family. He enjoyed trips to the mountains, camping, fishing and hiking. Later, trips took Dad and Mom to farther destinations. Church activities were very important to him. Mom and Dad enjoyed 6 months at the children's home in Carrot River, SK. Dad was a forgiving man, and not one to hold a grudge. We remember his prayers for us. He loved to read his Bible. In his quiet caring way, he reached out to many people. He especially loved each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish fond memories are his wife, Beulah; children Verna and Allen Barkman, Cromer, MB; Marilyn and Fred Wiebe, Swanson, SK; Howard Isaac, Ponoka, AB; Dale Isaac, Stettler, AB; Ron and Ramona Isaac, Linden, AB; Karen and Keith Goossen, Armstrong, BC; Raynette and Frank Gerlitz, Castlegar, BC; 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Clara Toews and Matilda and William Wohlgemuth. Dad was predeceased by his first wife, his parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Recently, Dad often said, "This world is not my Home - Heaven is my Home." Funeral services were held Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Linden, AB, with interment in Linden Cemetery.
