James J. Wright (Jim) was born in Trochu, Alberta in 1940. Jim lived in, and received his formal schooling in Three Hills, until the school of life called and he answered, by taking on a job in an industry that his Mom and Grandmother both earned their livelihoods. Jim worked for Alberta Government Telephones (AGT/Telus) for 35 years as a combination-man, serving many people in the Three Hills vicinity over the years. January 13, 1943 - September 15, 2017 - Known to everyone as Sam, Robert Stanley Kidd was the grandson of some of the earliest homesteaders in Elnora. He and his wife Gwen owned and operated Kidd’s Hardware and Groceries for more than 30 years, before building Buffalo Rock Golf Course. After a brief illness, he passed away peacefully in the Three Hills Hospital at the age of 74 on September 15, 2017, surrounded by family.
