Congratulations to the Three Hills School Royals Cross Country running team and their effort at the recent South Central Zone competition. The junior high runners placed in the top two-thirds in their respective divisions and the senior high runners placed middle of the pack. The one exception was Deyem Lansink - he placed 2nd overall in grade 11 boys and earned himself a spot in the ASAA Cross Country Provincials on October 28. Well done, Royals, and good luck Deyem.

Thrashers struggle to find footing

Another weekend saw another pair of disappointing losses for the Three Hills Thrashers.

Coming off a 13-0 loss in Cochrane on Friday, October 6, the Thrashers took the ice Friday night at home against the Mountainview Colts. Unfortunately, an early power-play goal by the Colts less three minutes into the game was indicative of the way the game would go. Prairie Pilots home tournament a success

Both the men and women Prairie Pilots were in fine form this past weekend as they hosted their first Prairie Athletic Conference volleyball tournament of the year. The teams attending the tournament included the Great Plains College Sundogs, the Saskatoon Amaruks, the Millar Edge, and the Prince Albert Wild. The men, coached by Marcus Hirch, were undefeated at the tournament and the women, coached by Travis Pengra, were close behind with only one loss at the hands of the Millar Edge.

The team played exceptionally well and met the host team in the final where the Royals won in 2 close sets.
