Fort St. John Strikers win Tier 4 U16 Provincial Soccer

The Fort St. John Strikers took home the Gold medal as Three Hills hosted the Tier 4 U16 Provincial Soccer Championships at Wilson Fields July 9-11. Hinton Whew picked up the Silver medals while the Three Hills Strikers claimed Bronze.
A total of eight teams competed. The other five were Stettler, Thorsby, Vegreville, Linden and Sherwood Park.
The Kick To Win competition saw Three Hills tied with Vegreville at 36 points each after six events. Vegreville won bragging rights and a six-foot Subway sandwich after a six shot shootout.
Three Hills RCMP used their speed gun to measure the fastest shot in the shootout. It was clocked at 104 km/h. The slowest was 92 km/h. Other competitions included Team Juggling, Fastest Duo, Target Shoot and Team Dribbling.
High level fireworks were enjoyed Saturday night to cap off the event.
