Devin Woodland named ACAC All-Conference

Devin Woodland, a young man who grew up in Three Hills and graduated from Prairie Christian Academy in 2008, has received an ACAC all-conference selection in cross-country running as a result of his fourth place finish in the ACAC provincial championship 8 km race.
Woodland now runs for Grande Prairie Regional College and narrowly missed the podium at this year's championships as two runners from Lethbridge, both off Kenyan origin, and one runner studying at Augustana though he is originally from New Zealand finished ahead of the Three Hills native.
This past weekend, Woodland and his GPRC Wolves teammates travelled to Fredericton, NB for the CCAA cross-country championships hosted by St Thomas University. Woodand finished 14th overal with a personal best time of 26:57. Willy Kimosop of Lethbridge won his third consecutive national men's title with a time of 24:45, beating the course record by 19 seconds. Woodland's GPRC teammate Fiona Benson won the women's race, narrowly defeating ACAC champion Jodi Sanguin of Red Deer College.
