Acts Gym Medicine Hat

On Saturday, August 19, athletes representing Acts Gym, in Three Hills, travelled to Medicine Hat to compete in The Grind Annual Power-lifting Competition. Acts Gym owner, Jason Thompson, was very pleased with everyone who competed. “Considering that this was the first competition for some of the lifters, they did very well.” Jason set National records in his age/weight category with a 555lb squat and a 650lb deadlift, as well as a record for overall total. Pat Cullum won his class and set National records in the squat, deadlift, bench press and Military Press categories. Stan Guedes set a National record in the squat category and also in the overall total category. He went on to set a World Record in deadlift by lifting an astonishing 701lbs. Stan was named Best Male Lifter of the Meet. Adrian Skelton, Heather Pliva, Luke Harasymiw, Trygve Tysseland and Aaron Pachel all received medals for their age and weight categories.
