Thrashers fall to Flyers

The Three Hills Thrashers were looking for their first win of the season on Saturday night as they hosted the High River Flyers. Unfortunately, it was visiting Flyers came out strong, firing 23 shots at the Thrashers net and finally being rewarded with three goals in the final three minutes of the period to jump out to a 3-0 lead. The Flyers managed two more goals in the second period before rookie Tanner Boutin notched his first goal of the season to put Three Hills on the board. The Thrashers played a strong third period and Cooper Cheshire scored his second goal of the year midway through the final frame before High River finished the scoring with a pair of late goals to make the final score 7-2. Rookie netminder Alex Jones took the loss making 45 saves between the pipes for the Thrashers.

The Thrashers only action over the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend will be a Friday game in Cochrane, a team that has two wins and two losses in their first four games in Heritage Junior B League play. The Thrashers return to home ice on Friday, October 13 at 8:00 pm when they face the MountainView Colts.
