Archery Open House set for Saturday, May 11

Carbon Archery

Three surveys later and the responses confirmed that the Carbon Agriculture Society has the interest and commitment of about 30 people to move forward on opening an archery range inside the Carbon Curling Rink during its off season.

An open house event, to include demonstrations will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Decisions will be made at that time on the scheduling of which nights, how many nights, and times being offered. At the moment the group has turned 10 tree limbs into hangers for the bows, which also mark where the shooters stand. There are five targets/backstops and approximately 11 3D targets. This range is open to all ages and there will be rentals if you require equipment. Drop-in passes will be made available. There will be adult, student and family pricing. ’Range officers’ will always be on site.

Organizers include Brent Lohner (10 years experience), and Scott Hyshka (20 years experience). Though they utilize the bow and arrow for hunting, the range is also for recreational ‘fun’. The stage has been set, the ambiance a work in progress and your muscles are thrilled at the prospect of pulling that bow string, so come check It out on Saturday.
