The Kneehill Atom B Chiefs hosted their home tournament this past weekend. It was a huge success with eight teams and non-stop action in both the Three Hills Centennial and Trochu arenas. The Kneehill Atom B Chiefs won their first three games against Crossfield, Red Deer and Didsbury, placing them in the A final on Sunday against Didsbury. After a hard played game by both teams, Didsbury came out on top with a 6-3 win.
The 36th Annual Huxley All Nighter Curling Bonspiel took place on the January 20-21 weekend. A total of 19 teams took part with 12 being local. Of those coming from beyond Huxley were some who have takne part in the All Nighter for 30 years.
This year’s theme was Canada’s 150 Anniversary and some teams picked that up in their costumes, either sporting a red and white colour scheme or in costumes suggesting Canadian sport teams, etc.

The Dr. Elliott School Blackhawks Volleyball program completed a banner season this fall. Both boys and girls teams started the season at tournaments in Bassano and Brooks and both teams came home as champions. This was the start of a list of successes.
The Blackhawks girls team went through the entire season with only two matches lost. Tournament wins were at Brooks and Holy Cross Collegiate in Strathmore. Silver was won at Strathmore and PCA with the final match losses to Red Deer Lake School
BROWN WINS A EVENT
The Dale Brown rink beat Buck Birnie’s foursome in an all-Elnora final in the A Event of the Three Hills Farmers' Open bonspiel over the weekend. Bonspiel chairman Rob Davidson was delighted with the response to the annual bonspiel as 26 teams participated.
