On Jan 31/Feb 1 the PCA Sabres Jr High A Girls Basketball team won gold at the Holy Cross Collegiate Tournament in Strathmore. The Sabres won the final game against the Three Hills Royals 55-42. Kneehill Atom Chiefs bring home Gold

Kneehill Atom Chiefs brought home the gold medal from the Innisfail Atom A tournament that took place this past weekend, January 25th and 26th, 2020. They defeated teams from Brooks, Edmonton, Red Deer and Innisfail to win the tournament. The Kneehill Chiefs are: Emery Aellen, Carter Paget, Cade Calhoun, Eric Rector, Donovan Brown, Ty Ferguson, Luke Bernie, Lucas Wiens, Luke Rector, Lex Grosfield and Bentley Dettmer. Mitch Bauer rink wins 39th Annual Huxley All-Nighter Curling Bonspiel

The Mitch Bauer rink, of Torrington, took home the “A”event at the 39th Annual Huxley All-Nighter Curling Bonspiel.

A total of 22 rinks curled around the clock over the weekend. Aside from local entries, rinks came from as far away as Houston, Kelowna, Vernon, Grande Prairie and Edmonton.

Each year a costume theme is selected, this year being the Roaring 20s. The Gary Brucker Rink, of Kelowna, took the prize.

Bauer Rink wins Farmers Open Bonspiel

The Three Hills Curling Club hosted the Farmers Open Bonspiel from December 29 to January 5. There were 27 teams coming from far and wide to take part. Erskine, Red Deer, Rumsey, Carbon, Torrington, Carbon and Three Hills and areas in between were all represented.

The Bauer Rink made up of three generations of Bauers from Torrington came first in the A Event. This team has Jeff Bauer as skip, Mitch as 3rd, Jordan as 2nd and Daryl as lead.
