Sabres to host Provincial Basketball

The wait is over as the 2A Girls Provincial Basketball Championships arrive at the Prairie Christian Academy (PCA) in Three Hills.
The host PCA Lady Sabres finished their league season undefeated putting them in top form as they face the best teams in the province of Alberta.

Royals claim 2A South Central Zone Sr. Boys Basketball Championship

This past weekend Three Hills School hosted the 2A South Central Zone Sr. Boys Basketball Championship. The Royals got stronger as the weekend went on and won the gold medal with a win over last years champions. It was an exciting, hard fought game that ended 83-79. Congratulations to the Royals and good luck at the provincial tournament in Edson this weekend.

A very successful fundraiser was held March 1 to 4th in Carbon for Kidsport Kneehill. The 8th annual curling event hosted 16 teams throughout the week and weekend, and raised just over $8,500 to help children in our area participate in sports. The highlight of the event was the return of the “Turkey Putt” on Saturday afternoon.
Over the past eight years, this event has raised over $42,000, “So ALL Kids Can Play!”

The daytime drop-in curlers were joined by former Three Hills resident Harold Hunter when they held their last mini spiel for the season on Friday, March 3. The winners of the Heartland Funeral Services plaque were Ron Matus - Lead, Nicki Bernier - Third and Will Krusky - Skip. Presenting the plaque is Harold Hunter, of Olds, who brought donuts and coffee to start the day.
