That's Life - May 13, 2020

For most of us, through our lives, we have been focussed on the May Long Weekend. We planned get-a-ways, packed picnics and broke out the golf clubs and fishing rods.

Well this May Long Weekend we’re focussed on relaunching the Province of Alberta and the first phase in kick starting our economy.

Stage One of three phases allows the re-opening of some businesses with strict self-distancing, sanitizing, restricted numbers and, well, you get the picture. Anyone who thinks “this crazy load of Covid crap is finally over” is living in a dream world. We are far from back to normal and you will find that out as we continue on through this pandemic.

Remember this, businesses allowed to re-open are doing so only if they feel safe and are prepared to meet the safety requirements put forth by the Province of Alberta.

I’m going to say something I thought I would never say, “I can’t wait to get my hair cut.” Oh sure, I have worn shorter hair for a number of years now but there was a time when it was half way down my back. Now that’s where my hairline starts. If my hair gets any longer I might think about getting the band back together again. Well, maybe I’ll just get it cut.

So, as the days and weeks go by we’ll all have to stay tuned to see how the re-launch is going and how it will affect our day to day lives. The best thing to do is call ahead to see if the business you’re going to is open. Right now things are all over the map.

Just remember that face masks and frequent hand washing and hand sanitizers are going to be part of our lives for months to come.

It’s going to be a different kind of summer. That’s an understatement.

That’s Life.
