That's Life - May 20, 2020

Congratulations to the Three Hills School Graduating Class of 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic has stood in your way for now but you’ll make up for it at a later date with a celebration that you’ll never forget. Think of the delay in your ceremony like having two Christmas celebrations or two really great birthdays. Trochu Valley, Acme and Prairie Christian Academy are all in the same boat. The day will come when all of you will walk across that stage.

At The Capital we’re getting excited about publishing our 2020 Kneehill Graduation Guide. We will proudly present it on Wednesday, June 10. If you would like to purchase a congratulatory ad for that section please call us at 403.443.5133.

Phase one of re-opening is underway but businesses and shoppers alike are using much care and caution. The worst thing we can do is throw caution to the wind and just jump in the deep end with no safety measures. We’ll end up right back where we were.

One event that we all look forward to is the Three Hills Farmer’s Market. It is opening on Tuesday, June 2 at the Three Hills Curling Rink with some modified rules for social distancing. All types of vendors are allowed to attend. There will be a limit to the number of customers allowed in at one time Social distancing of 6 ft or 2 meters will be in effect between shoppers. Market times are 10 am to 1 pm.

The office of Capital Printers Ltd. (publisher of The Capital) will re-open to the public on Monday, June 1, 2020. Our new office hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm. The office will be closed Thursday, Friday and weekends. Appointments for these days can be arranged by emailing info@threehillscapital.com or calling 403-443-5133.

I think we all need to pat ourselves on the back for keeping the case rate of COVID-19 so low in Kneehill County. To date we have two active cases and two recovered. That’s because most of us are doing the right things to flatten the curve. If you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem. We’re all in this together.

That’s Life.
