Seniors Outreach April 18, 2012

It is better to give than to receive. Living in rural Alberta we are blessed in so many ways, one of which is through the gift of volunteering. One way or another we have all been touched when someone shares all that they have with us whether it is time, a meal, a skill or simply a helping hand. At the end of the day, we felt special.  Ironically, the volunteer also reaped the benefits of this relationship.
Non-profit CEO Tina Mackenzie is quoted as saying "volunteers are the most effective ambassadors in the community".   This has been demonstrated time and time again through the great works of the volunteers at Seniors Outreach. Lives have been touched and volunteers have shared from their hearts.
There is an opportunity for people of all ages to volunteer with Seniors Outreach. Whether this is as a baker for the food bank, a caring visitor, or a community bus driver – we have many ways you can serve. Some of our volunteers have been with us for over fifteen years and due to health challenges now have the gift of volunteers serving them.
Help us make sure that we are able to support our seniors for many years to come. Consider giving back to the community by becoming a volunteer.
