Seniors Outreach May 2, 2012

Cabin Fever!  Medical Appointments!  Grocery Shopping or just plain shopping! They're all legitimate reasons to call Seniors Outreach to set up a Caring Car!
Perhaps one of the most important programs that Seniors Outreach  has provided throughout its history is the Caring Car program. Caring Cars is a volunteer driver program, available throughout Kneehill County, that enables our seniors to go to appointments, on personal business or shopping.   Although the drivers are volunteers, there is a suggested fuel recovery amount that is directly paid to the driver to cover the costs of gas and a little wear and tear on the vehicle.
How does it work?
1) Call the Seniors Outreach office at 403-443-2555 (1-888-443-2555 toll free) and speak with our receptionist.  Provide the details of the needed ride: Your name, address, phone number, where you need to go, and the time of your appointment.  You will be provided with the suggested fuel recovery amount which you will give to the driver after your trip.
2) The office personnel will call a volunteer Caring Car driver in your area and provide him/her with your contact information.
3) The Caring Car driver will call you to verify the details of your trip and set-up a time to pick you up.
4) On the day of your trip, the driver will take you to the appointment and arrange for a time to take you home.
What a helpful way to get around!
