Seniors Outreach May 16, 2012

Seniors Week, June 4-10, offers seniors the opportunity to take a variety of unique specialty trips.  The Seniors Outreach goal is to provide different options so that there is a choice for everyone. This year is no exception. Three trips are scheduled for Seniors Week and we encourage you to sign up early so you won't be disappointed.
• Nanton "Where History Lives" is home to the Lancaster Air Museum in honour of those who served in WWII. A walk down memory lane for many of our veterans.  Nanton also holds a heritage railroad, an educational Canadian Grain Elevator Discovery Centre along with the last of wooden grain elevators, and an antique and art walk that holds many treasures and original artwork.  This trip is scheduled for Monday, June 4th.
• The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra has opened up its rehearsal just for Seniors Outreach to celebrate Seniors Week on Friday, June 8th.  This rehearsal features the magnificient music of Beethoven's Pastoral and Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 played by one of the world's great violinists, Sarah Chang.  This is an incredible opportunity open to seniors and students.
• The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village relives the "good old days" from 1892-1930.  This is a unique provincial historic site that will bring back childhood memories of stories told by parents or grandparents, especially those from the Ukrainian heritage. Seniors lunch offers two options: a Ukrainian heritage meal or Baba's meal. The trip is scheduled for Monday, June 4th.
Don't miss out on these wonderful and unique opportunities. Sign up and enjoy the Seniors Week, June 4-10, specialty trips.  Prepayment is required to hold your seat. Don't be disappointed, call our office today and make your own wonderful memories.
