Seniors Outreach News October 9, 2013

Now that the days are cooling off, it is time to think about preparing for winter. Finding ways to stay active during the winter months can often be a challenge for many people.  Seniors Outreach offers a Link to Health program in most communities.
In Three Hills, we have a Link to Health program on Monday mornings at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church so come and join in. There is also a Link to Health session held at Robertson Manor Thursday mornings, so stay active.
For those of you who enjoy knitting or crocheting, the winter is an ideal time to help others and keep your hands busy.  Seniors Outreach has a Knitting for Charity program so you can knit/crochet eight inch by eight inch squares for Blankets for Canada or toques, scarves, and mitts for various shelters. On those long, cold, dark winter evenings, you can volunteer your time to help others keep warm.
Seniors Outreach is offer a 10-week grief and loss support group on Tuesday mornings in the Provincial building so if you or someone you know has lost a loved one, this is the group for you.
Alberta Health Services is also offering free workshops on Diabetes, being Heart Wise, and making Better Choices for Better Health.
For more information on these programs, please call the Seniors Outreach office at 403-443-2555.
